September 2023 - April 2024 Assigned Subjects

A requirement for Assigned Subjects is that the member specify the capture date of each image entered. The date appears in the image metadata. The date is only correct if the photographer has entered the correct date/time setting in the camera. Everyone should check their cameras to be sure that the date/time are set accurately so they have a ready reference when considering an image for Assigned Subject entry.

All images that are to be entered in the Assigned Subject competition for the 2023-2024 DPS year must have been captured on or after September 1, 2022.

SEPTEMBER 2023: WOOD DETAIL (Interesting abstract shape or texture of natural wood)
OCTOBER 2023: WORK (People working at a recognizable task)
NOVEMBER 2023: WATER REFLECTION (Photograph featuring a subject reflected in water)
JANUARY 2024: FALL COLORS (Showing the warm colors of Fall)
FEBRUARY 2024: STAIRS (Image whose main subject is stairs)
MARCH 2024: NOSTALGIA (Place, person or object that evokes nostalgia)
APRIL 2024: FUNNY IMAGE (Photo that provides a chuckle or laugh)

SEPTEMBER 2024: LONELY (Single subject in an environment that evokes a feeling of loneliness)

NOVEMBER 2024: EYES ALIVE (Image featuring the eyes of a live creature)

All images that are to be entered in the Assigned Subject competition for the 2021-2022 DPS year must have been captured on or after September 1, 2020.

SEPTEMBER 2021: Frame the Subject (Subject is framed by natural or manmade things)
OCTOBER 2021: Abandoned (Building or item that has been untouched for a long time)
NOVEMBER 2021: Farm Scene (A farm in any season)
JANUARY 2022: Peaceful Moment (Scene with a peaceful feeling)
FEBRUARY 2022: In My Home (Image made within the walls of your home)
MARCH 2022: Pan or Zoom Motion (Image made by camera or lens movement during exposure)

DECEMBER 2020 (online only): Party Item (An image showing an item(s) that suggests party or celebration)
JANUARY 2021: Seeds (Plant seeds)
FEBRUARY 2021: Plated Meal (Ready to eat food on a plate)
MARCH 2021: My Big Toe (Interesting selfie of photographer's big toe [homage to the late Bill Talarowski] )
APRIL 2021: Architectural Detail (An interesting portion of a building or large scale manmade edifice)

JANUARY 2020: Jewelry (Non-clothing, removable decorative accessory on a person/creature or by itself) 
FEBRUARY 2020: Angry Mother Nature (Storm, eruption, earthquake, etc. or its obvious results) 
MARCH 2020: Father (Shows a biological father or things representing or suggesting one)
